Conference Hotel

The 14th Ottawa Conference will be held at Hyatt Regency Hotel, 400 S.E. 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33131, USA. The recently renovated hotel with first-class amenities is Miami’s largest meeting space, its downtown location providing excellent access to shops, restaurants, bars, beaches and cultural venues. The main Conference and most of the preconference workshops will be held at the Hotel. Other preconference workshops and the courses will be held at the Gordon Centre for Research in Medical Education (GCRME), University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

How to get to Miami

Miami International Airport is easily accessible both nationally and internationally, and is served by a number of airlines. For further information visit Miami Airport. The airport is located a short taxi ride from the city.

Visa Information

To find out whether you will need a visa for entry to the US please click here. A list of the 35 countries which at present are included in the Visa Waiver Program and for which advance visa applications are not necessary is given on the website. If you do need a visa it is recommended that you apply at least 60 days in advance of travel. The Ottawa Local Organising Committee will do its best to provide letters of invitation, but you are kindly asked to request such letters as soon as possible.

Currency

In September 2009 the US$ is worth approximately Euros 0.68 or UK Pounds Sterling 0.60.

Weather

May is one of the best months to visit Miami, with temperatures of between 22-30oC and an average of 12 hours of sunshine a day.

Language

The language of the Conference is English. Some preconference workshops will be conducted in Spanish.
