BACKGROUND PAPERS



List of submitted Background Papers


To inform the deliberations of the Theme Groups we are inviting the submission of background papers from organisations or individuals with a commitment to assessment in the healthcare professions. The background papers may be in the form of case studies, personal experiences, reports of research work, literature reviews or opinions and viewpoints. Existing descriptions relating to assessment or papers previously published will be welcome, as will papers produced specifically to inform the Conference deliberations. Papers may relate to the topic of assessment more generally in the healthcare professions, to one of the Theme Groups, or to a specific aspect of a theme. They may document and support existing practice, or may be provocative and advocate changes in approaches to assessment. Papers submitted may represent the views of an individual, a group of individuals or an organisation or institution.

Length and format of papers: There is no prescribed length of papers to be submitted, and both short and long papers are welcome. There is no prescribed format for papers. Both published and unpublished papers are welcome. An individual or institution may submit more than one paper.

Papers submitted are available from the link at the top of this page. They will be considered by the appropriate Theme Group(s) to help inform their deliberations and to assist them in arriving at a set of Consensus Statements about best practice in assessment in the healthcare professions, accompanied by appropriate recommendations.


A list of the titles, authors and references (if appropriate) of papers submitted will be included with the final set of Consensus Statements and Recommendations. 

It is the submitter's responsibility to ascertain that there are no copyright restrictions on including the full text of the paper on this website.
